The definition of Giftedness was first made by evaluating academic potentials. Today, many scientists have different theories and definitions on the subject. The prominent concepts in these theories can be counted as normal superiority in general and special abilities, creativity, easy and fast learning, high attention span, psychomotor and sensory excesses, and having a different point of view.
To define it classically; Gifted and gifted children are those who show a higher level of success compared to their peers in intelligence, creativity, art, leadership capacity and academic fields.
Gifted children differ in their learning styles, development, and psychosocial development from their peers. Likewise, their educational and emotional needs are different. For this reason, special training programs should be implemented for their healthy development.
